Katie Olson – Publishing Consultant
kolson@briobooks.com
888-333-7979 x 816
Favorite Book: Twilight [deserves an explanation -I'm almost embarrassed to admit that the Twilight series has had me interested from the start:  it seems like such a teenage girl thing!  I found the books entertaining, the movies well-done (in comparison to other movies based on novels - I almost never like the movie). The best part of it all is Stephanie Meyer's story as a first-time author. It all came to her in a dream and she wrote with her children playing at her feet. She wrote the books for herself, never knowing the crazy success in her future].

Favorite Genre: Fiction.  Real stories about real people overcoming obstacles are inspiring. I also love to browse a good cookbook and for the beach, a good romance. Katie works in our publishing department consulting with clients worldwide. She has worked in the direct-marketing, printing and publishing industry since 1994, and is a graduate of St. Cloud State University with a degree in Mass Communications and Marketing. Three children at home keep her busy and reading everything from Dr. Seuss to Judy Blume to Jane Eyre. She reads the newspaper every day (an actual paper you can hold) as well as permission slips, grocery lists, and texts from her teenager.

Dan Sclavi is BRIO’s Logistics Specialist. He studied Criminal Justice while still in high school at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College, but decided to enter the workforce after graduation upon the premise that his birth was such an epic event that the tides changed, the moon was pushed out of Earth’s gravitational pull and the sun’s temperature rose 33,000 Kelvin as well as giving Ken Kutargi the inspiration he needed for inventing the Playstation Gaming Console; all while avoiding massive debt. Dan worked for six years in the freight industry as a Freight Operations & Account Manager and all around awesome guy. His experience ranges from small packages to truckload shipments as well as foreign and domestic freight.
